A NEW YORK TRIBUTE FOR TONI

Following the unforgettable October 2025 performance of Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE, A Dance Company featuring TU Dance at Northrop—an evening that illuminated the profound power of two companies with shared histories coming together—TU Dance has received an extraordinary invitation.

In the spirit of carrying forward Founder & Artistic Director Toni Pierce-Sands’ dream of seeing TU Dance and EVIDENCE share the stage, Ronald K. Brown (Artistic Director) and Arcell Cabuag (Associate Artistic Director) have invited TU Dance to perform at The Joyce Theater in New York City as part of EVIDENCE’s 40th Anniversary Season, February 26–28. The Thursday, February 26 performance will be dedicated to Toni, offering her New York dance family and colleagues a meaningful opportunity to gather, celebrate, and honor her in the city she loved and where she built her career with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

This invitation is an unexpected and deeply moving honor—and we are reaching out to ask for your support in making it possible. TU Dance must raise $20,000 in the next four weeks to cover salaries, airfare, housing, per diem, local transportation, and studio rental in NYC. Your gift ensures that this collaboration extends beyond its single Twin Cities performance and that TU Dance dancers are present to honor Toni at this significant tribute.
