45 Years and Beyond

It was 1976 when former Forest Lake Police Chief Jim Trudeau saw the need for an intervention program that would keep young, first-time offenders out of trouble. Back then, the program was solely focused on youth. Now, Lakes Center for Youth and Families serves people of all ages, families, and couples right here in Forest Lake and the surrounding area.

For more than four decades, Lakes Center has been at the nexus of communities, schools, and the justice system, providing emotional, social, and mental health support. Success has been achieved one person at a time. Just as Lakes Center has evolved over the years, individuals too can embrace change and re-imagine new possibilities for their lives.

Now, as Lakes Center reaches their 45th Anniversary of serving our community, they need you more than ever. COVID-19 was devastating to everyone, and Lakes Center was no exception. They are still trying to get their feet under them by any means possible, other than sacrificing the much needed quality programming. In addition to COVID-19, Lakes Center has had numerous other mountains to climb- one peak after another.
