Lakes Area Rescue is launching a fundraising campaign to purchase a LUCAS device for our southern coverage area. As our team continues to expand and serve a growing population across more than 350 square miles, the need for advanced life-saving equipment has never been more critical. The LUCAS device, a mechanical CPR tool, provides consistent and effective chest compressions during cardiac arrest, ensuring our responders can deliver the highest level of care in emergency situations.
Currently, our southern coverage area, Fort Ripley Township, St. Mathias Township, Crow Wing Township, Oak Lawn Township, Nokay Lake Township, Long Lake Township, Daggett Brook Township and Maple Grove Township, lacks this vital piece of equipment. With over 800 calls for service in 2023 alone, the addition of a LUCAS device will significantly enhance our ability to respond rapidly and provide life-saving support to those in need.
We are thrilled to announce that we’ve been selected for Minnesota Truck Headquarters' Race to 300 Sales event for non-profits and anticipate receiving approximately $10,000 from this event! Additionally, we have secured a $2,000 Boost Fund from Sourcewell to kickstart this effort, but additional funds are required to cover the full cost of the device.
While this provides an incredible boost to our campaign, we still need to raise an additional $8,000 to fully fund the LUCAS device for our southern coverage area.
Your support will help us raise the remaining amount, ensuring our team is equipped with the best tools to serve our community effectively. Join us in making a life-saving difference for residents and visitors in our southern coverage area. Every donation brings us one step closer to saving more lives!
