Happy Give to the Max 2025, it's the MOST important day of the year for our rescue! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and helps keep our little rescue going into the next year. Join us today as we share with you our new program goals for 2026, reminisce about some of the dogs we were able to help through adoption and community support in 2025, and help us reach our financial challenge to raise $20,000.

*A special note- just like previous years, any donation of $100 or more will earn you a one of a kind MPBR #GTMD25 sweatshirt. *We’ll contact you the first week in December for your size and address so be sure to enter your information on the donation page and check your spam folder in December if you don’t see something in your inbox. *

Last year, we shared with you the challenges of dog ownership and how we planned to help in the areas of training support, housing/food/supplies support, veterinary support, and owner surrender support. We had 50+ applications come in for support from Dec 2024 to the end of Oct 2025. Training support and rehoming needs took the cake in the requests we received. While we were supporting the community, we were still taking in dogs who needed veterinary and training support as well, though at a limited capacity.

2026 will again change our goals based on what we saw in 2025. Our main focus will be:

  1. Minnesota based dog intake (+ special medical cases from outside of MN)

  2. Spay/Neuter –continuing to support the community with not having unwanted litters who end up in the shelter/rescue as puppies or adults

  3. Dog Training –rehoming can come from a variety of reasons but we believe training support can sometimes help keep a dog in their existing home successfully

We want to continue to see dogs "stay home” if and when it is possible. The fewer dogs entering the shelter/rescue system–because they can have their needs met by resources available–the more room there is for dogs who need to come into the adoption system because their owner truly cannot  support them at this time. (And that is ok!)  We hope that you will continue to support us in 2026 and our goals to help our dog owning community here in MN!
