Project for Opportunity Neighborhood

Help create a safe and positive out-of-school time program for families like Samantha and Va'neeyah.

It has been 8 months since we opened the doors to Common Collective, our out-of-school time program for K-8th grade youth who live at Commons at Penn in North Minneapolis.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, youth have been able to…..

  • Give back to their community through assembling and delivering care packages to the homeless.

  • Be introduced to music production through writing and recording two songs entitled: Stop the Violence and Never Die.

  • Learn healthy lifestyle skills through gardening and a hands-on cooking show.

  • Participate in a 14-week summer day camp program that took them on 15 fields trips they would otherwise be unable to participate in.

All of these opportunities have created a safe and positive oasis for children living in a part of the Twin Cities known for its high crime rate, widespread poverty and lack of positive opportunities for young people.

We continue to invest into the children that live at Commons at Penn and need your help!  This year we are on track to not only continue to provide year-round programming for K-8th grade resident youth, but through partnerships with other Northside youth serving organizations, expand programming to offer a nutrition and entrepreneurial program.

But to make this all happen, we need your help!   Please consider making a donation this year to assist us continuing to make an impact in the lives of Northside children.
