SOUTH LOUISIANA WETLANDS DISCOVERY CENTER

A nonprofit organization

The mission of the Wetlands Discovery Center is to revolutionize the way we think, teach, and learn about Louisiana's disappearing coast.

Whether you live along Bayou Terrebonne, work along Bayou Lafourche, or celebrate in the city of New Orleans, we're all in this together. Everyone across the planet faces challenges in the place they chose to live, but the residents of coastal Louisiana face complex issues. Our land is washing away, but that doesn't mean our next generation has to be lost too. Please consider helping us educate students on coastal land loss issues by donating today!

Testimonials

I love SLWDC because it connects our community to the wetlands through hands-on education, cultural celebration, and environmental awareness. From inspiring kids at Swamp Camp to preserving Cajun heritage with Rougarou Fest, they make learning fun and meaningful. Their passion for protecting Louisiana's coast is contagious, and their programs empower the next generation to care for our environment. It's an organization making a real difference where it matters most.
