Flying Foot Forum

The FFF creates innovative percussive dance theater that shares the joy of rhythm through dance, story and song with people of all ages.

Joe Chvala and the Flying Foot Forum are celebrating 25 years of ground-breaking, mind-bending, highly physical and wildly theatrical works.  Our 2016-17 season saw us in a roving dance party  through downtown St Paul with our site-specific "Passing Through Pig's Eye", featuring the work of twelve unique, Twin Cities' choreographers, dancers, composers and musicians. FFF had a thrilling run at the Cowles  Center in our collaboration with the ever dynamic, dramatic Zorongo Flamenco. Over the summer, we presented a new show for the Flint Hills Children's Festival in St  Paul and transformed the lower level of the historic Landmark Center into "The Mystery of Pig's Eye Manor". We also premiered a rough cut of our new film project with Steve Campbell, called "Split Rock Shuffle" at the Bryant Lake Bowl. The film's full premiere will be a part of our over-the-top celebration of FFF's 25 year history at Park Square Theater in June/July 2018. We're remounting the FFF's cult classic, "French Twist" as well as presenting past works and brand new pieces as we "beat the drum" to mark 25 years of striking our feet on the floor, slapping out rhythms, telling tall tales, opening our hearts and creating multi-faceted, always engaging, deeply human works of art.
