About the Organization:

YourJewish is a Twin Cities based nonprofit organization serving those who are unengaged and under-engaged in Jewish life in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. It is run by Rabbi Jill Avrin with support from a handful of contract employees, an initial Board of Directors, and a number of incredible volunteers. 

Mission: 

The mission of YourJewish is to provide creative and meaningful Jewish experiences for those who are unengaged or under-engaged in Jewish life in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. We meet people where they are on their Jewish journey, validating and nurturing the ways each person wants to live their Jewish life. 

Goals: 

1. Increase the total number of people engaging in Jewish life across the Twin Cities and the surrounding region. 

2. Meet people where they are literally by bringing Judaism to the public sphere. 

3. Meet people where they are figuratively by validating alternative expressions of Jewish engagement as equally valid to institutional offerings. 

The Work We Do: 

Our work falls primarily under three categories of engagement: 

Independent Rituals and Life Cycle Events 

Weddings, independent b’ mitzvah, funerals, baby namings, and more. We create personalized experiences for people who are looking for creative and individualized options. 

One Time Events and Experiences 

Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, cultural events, learning activities, spiritual experiences, workshops, booths at public festivals and fairs, and immersive trips. 

Small Groups 

We run a series of small groups that meet over extended periods of time to help folks create new, meaningful relationships with others in the community.
