As the first public full immersion Chinese charter school in the country, we have built a vibrant learning environment that fosters cultural understanding and supports our diverse student body. Our mission is to prepare our students to be engaged and productive global citizens by providing a research-based educational program that includes a rigorous academic program, immersion in Chinese language and culture, and a nurturing and supportive school environment.

Why Your Support Matters

At Yinghua Academy, we’re proud to offer an exceptional education — one that blends academic rigor, Chinese language immersion, arts, and music. But simply put: the funding doesn’t match the mission. Yinghua receives state general-education revenue just like other public schools — yet, as a charter school, we cannot raise extra funds through local tax levies or bonds, which traditional school districts use to supplement their budgets.

In the most recent fiscal year, Yinghua received $10,851.78 per student, while the surrounding district received $17,109.72 per student — a difference of more than $5 million annually if we were funded at the same level.

Despite this gap, Yinghua continues to achieve outstanding results and national recognition — but only because of people like you. Your support ensures that our students continue to learn in spaces that match their excellence. When you give to Yinghua, you’re not covering “extras” — you’re helping fund the essentials that make our model work:

This Year’s Project: Revitalizing Our Music Rooms

This Give to the Max Day, we’re focusing on a project that brings learning — and joy — to life: upgrading our music rooms.

With your help, we’ll install modern storage systems, improve room layouts, and make functional and acoustic upgrades so students and teachers can focus more on music and less on moving equipment. Clearly, we need some upgrades (see pictures below)!

Your donation will help us:

• Replace outdated storage with efficient, movable systems
• Improve organization and space for ensemble rehearsals
• Upgrade furniture and lighting
• Add acoustic enhancements to improve sound quality

These changes will make a lasting impact for hundreds of Yinghua students each year. While we don't have full plans in place yet, the images below give some ideas of what we might do - elevated storage, removing of clutter, and cleaner organization

Additionally, some funds will be used to upgrade our classroom projectors. Our current aging projectors are lamp-based outdated models that are expensive to maintain. We will upgrade to laser-based projectors which provide higher brightness and clarity and reduced maintenance costs.
