WSP Pride

West St. Paul Pride (WSP Pride) was created in 2019 to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community in and around West St. Paul. We will continue that celebration. We will also work year-round to maintain a welcoming and affirming feeling within the city of West St. Paul for the LGBTQIA+ community. What started out as a last-minute gathering in a park with a grill and some hot dogs has turned into a two-day-long celebration with entertainment, vendors, and folks from our neighboring suburbs paying us a visit to soak in the love, support, and acceptance for the LGBTQIA+ community. We're here to always keep supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and we only have visions of doing even more. 

Last year, we set aside an intentional budget item to support the LGBTQIA+ students in our community. Supporting LGBTQIA+ students and lifting up their voices has always been near and dear to our hearts, and we can't do that without the support of the LGBTQIA+ staff that connect with them every day. WSP Pride wants to help foster this as much as we can. 

Like last year, with this Give OUT Day campaign, we're aiming to raise enough money with the goal to help with things like funds to cover the cost of substitute teachers and transportation to travel to Q-Quest during the 2026 school year. Helping out with unofficial school district 197 swag to sell at WSP Pride and other spaces to raise more funds for our GSAs. We know the future with our current federal administration is very bleak when it comes to LGBTQIA+ dollars being set aside anywhere, but especially in public schools. 

If we hit our goal of $500 today, WSP Pride will double that, meaning that with last year's money raised, we'll be able to write them a check for $1500. And we know those teachers can make a dollar stretch. 

Whatever you're able to give, we truly appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts. We're excited to kick this effort off and can't wait to see where it goes from here. We couldn't do it without you.
