WoMN ACT advances gender equity and social justice through advocacy and collaboration.

The Minnesota Women’s Consortium – now WoMN ACT (Advocate, Collaborate, Transform) is the only statewide collective of womxn’s organizations in the country. WoMN ACT has carried its values and gender forward by breaking down barriers that prevent womxn and girls from having the confidence, freedom, and power to reach their full potential.

Since its inception, WoMN ACT has served as an umbrella organization providing leadership, training, and resources to anyone working toward the goal of gender equity.  We have been a resource center, a referral network, an information source, and a supportive place – a forum for the exchange of knowledge and ideas.

Our organization exists because we cannot work for justice and equity alone. Together, we can ensure womxn have a collective voice to shape the world we want to see. We don’t just talk equity, we live it.

Our goals are shaped by our values of equity, justice, inclusivity, integrity and collaboration. And we:

  • diligently fighting against unfair and unjust systems that privilege one group over another
  • inviting others to work alongside us
  • recognizing everyone's inherent worth, and
  • building interdependent networks in order to advance our common goals.

Our work priorities are driven by our members and supporters. Annually, we host Girls ACT!(Advocate, Collaborate, and Transform), a leadership and civic engagement program that encourages and empowers girls ages 13-18 to identify and prioritize issues relevant to their lives. Girls ACT! teaches young womxn how to break down barriers, remove bias, and become active and effective leaders. And the WoMN's Policy Summit, a day where individuals and community, nonprofit, and business leaders come together to address the most pressing policy issues facing womxn and people of color.  We offer scholarships and travel stipend for girls outside of the Twin Cities Metro to attend both events.

The only way we are going to address and eradicate these issues is through our collective power. We rally toward action and invite you to become a member and join us in the fight. With your support we can make this happen. Donate today and help us reach our goal of $40,000!
