Winona Area Public Schools Foundation Inc

The Foundation for Winona Area Public Schools is an independent, non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization established in 1991 and funded entirely by community and business supporters of education in Winona. The single purpose of the Foundation is to enrich and expand educational opportunities in Winona Area Public Schools by supporting important programs and projects that would otherwise not be funded through normal district resources. Tax deductible donations can be made to the Foundation's general fund or allocated to a special project, school, or program of your choosing. There are currently over 50 special finds which include accounts for music & art, elementary enrichment, SMART Boards & school technology, student scholarships, special educational trips, athletics, and enrichment activities. Also, over 40 grants are allocated annually from the Foundation to classrooms in all WAPS Schools. These grants fund:

• Educational Field Trips: MN Science Museum, Guthrie Theater, Eagle Bluff
• Programs: Project Science, Math Masters, Model Legislature
• Speakers/Conferences: Artist-in-Residence programs, National Young Leadership Conference, Young Writers Conference
