Wings of the North Air Museum

MISSION

Wings of the North is an all-volunteer nonprofit established on Flying Cloud Airport in 1998. We are dedicated to preserving and presenting aviation’s past, present, and future in a way that is both educational and entertaining. Our success is confirmed by Tripadvisor which rates WOTN as the Number 1 Thing To Do in Eden Prairie!

PROGRAMS

Wings of the North Air Museum: Our popular museum features not only aircraft but hundreds of other displays, artifacts, and pieces of art from all eras. We are proud to be a MINNESOTA aviation museum and we tell the stories of our State’s aviation heroes, successes, and failures. We provide tours to schools and other groups as well as space for private parties and corporate events. Donations go to supporting museum operations and acquiring addition hangar space to accommodate our displays that are still in storage and presently not available to the public.

Wings Restorations: Our restoration shop next to the museum brings airplanes back to life! We are in the final stages of work on a World War II basic trainer from the Vultee Aircraft Company called a BT-15 Valiant. Once this airplane takes to the air again as part of our flying  educational program we will start on a Korean War/Vietnam War vintage T-28 Trojan from North American Aviation as well as a Piper PA-12 general aviation airplane. Donations go to sourcing the sometimes rare parts and specialized tools needed for these restorations.

AirFair: Our annual one-day event each July features both general aviation aircraft as well as both vintage and modern military planes. The general public can talk to the pilots and owners of many of these great machines and watch some of them do flyby demonstrations. Exhibitors are on hand from local aviation businesses and schools to answer questions. Donations go to offsetting the expenses involved in producing these events and flying the aircraft.

CONCLUSION
