Wigs for the Cure

A nonprofit organization

Wigs for the Cure began in May 2016 after our founder, Pam Mattson, was diagnosed with breast cancer and realized how limited the local resources were for those facing not only cancer but the emotional impact of losing their hair. Motivated by her own experience, we set out to ensure that no one else in our community would have to face this journey alone or without support. Since then, we’ve had the privilege of providing over 300 high-quality wigs to people in our small community.

Each recipient receives not only a wig but also a personalized consultation, fitting, and styling session—offered with care by professional stylist and co-founder Linda Pierson of Linda’s Hair Design. Our mission goes beyond wigs—we aim to restore confidence, provide comfort, and offer emotional relief during one of the most difficult times in our clients' lives.

Thanks to the overwhelming community response, we’ve grown into an official nonprofit organization. This milestone allows us to expand our impact and receive donations at a broader level. Quality wigs that are durable and natural-looking typically cost between $150 and $250 each. As cancer rates unfortunately continue to rise, so does the demand for our services. Every dollar of donations goes to the purchase of wigs.

We are currently seeking donations of any amount to help us continue supporting those in need. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference.
