Washburn Running Club

The Washburn Running Club is a nonprofit organization that supports the cross country team at Washburn High School in Minneapolis. We have a proud history of top runners, both current and alumni. More importantly, we have a co-ed team that welcomes everyone and supports all runners in their personal athletic journeys.  The Washburn Running Club strives to create a close-knit community where all runners feel like an equal part of the team.  Every runner is celebrated.

In order to accomplish this, we have a top-notch group of assistant coaches who support our athletes through the season in practices, at meets and beyond. As a public school in the Minneapolis district, we do not have the funding that comparable suburban teams have, and our budget was recently cut even more drastically. With a team averaging between 50-75 students each season, we rely heavily on our assistant coaches.  However, there is no district budget for paying these individuals who have given their time and energy to our young athletes.  

Our goal is to raise $7000 to pay stipends to our assistant coaches.  Let’s show them how important their work is! Please donate today.
