Washburn High School Foundation

The 100th anniversary of Washburn High School was celebrated with many alumni, staff, students and community members.  Events included athletic and alumni hall of fame inductions, music from alumni and current students, Grammy-award winning Jimmy Jam Harris receiving an honorary diploma, astronaut Bob Cabana sharing his memories, an amazing history of Washburn display created by Washburn students under the direction of teacher Jason Jirsa filling the gym and a proclamation from Mayor Jacob Frey for Washburn High School Day!

There are many ways to connect and stay involved from the Fall Musical in early November, the Whirl to support the arts on 11/22/25, concerts throughout the year and althetics, including a trip to state this year for the football team.  If Washburn made a difference in your or someone you love's life, please consider donating to the Foundation.  We work to make a difference for current staff and students through scholarships, mini grants to teachers and staff and administrative grants to fill in gaps in funding for things like Turnitin software used by the English department, spring supplements to the yearbook, and artwork in the auditorium.  

The Foundation hopes to be able to provide even greater support than before, especially in light of the ever-widening gap between what is needed to achieve and maintain excellence at the school and what public funding is available.  Since 1987, the Foundation has been supporting Washburn at higher amounts each year and we hope to continue that for at least the next 100 years.

Your support is crucial to the success of the Foundation in its Mission and to the continued support of WHS and its students.  Together we can ensure that Washburn is able to achieve Excellence in Academics, Arts, and Athletics.
