2025 Takedown Cancer (TDC) Fundraiser Campaign - On January 9th, 2025, Waconia Wrestling Club will be sponsoring a Takedown Cancer (https://www.takedowncancer.org) fundraiser with all (net) proceeds going to the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund (https://randyshavercancerfund.org). This fundraiser will be held during the Waconia High School Wrestling Quadrangular Dual Meet with Orono High School, Forest Lake High School and St. Francis High School at 5pm. 

"TakeDown Cancer, in conjunction with the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund, would like to express our sincerest gratitude for the wrestling community’s unwavering support in funding cancer research, finding cures, and patient aid initiatives."

DID YOU KNOW? The survival rate for cancer has increased from 48% in the 1970s to nearly 70% today. As we continue to fund the brightest minds in cancer research, please know that all of your donations go directly toward moving these numbers even higher. With your help, we can get there faster!

YOUR TDC DONATIONS IN ACTION = Donations For Research - Grants given are spent on technology and tools that enhance early detection of cancer, promising new programs that promote research that would help prevent cancer relapses, projects that demonstrate research in the area of cancer, and programs that enhance the lives of Minnesota’s cancer community by providing aid and assistance.

Prospective grant seekers are required to submit a detailed descriptive proposal as well as a budget. Below are some of the different organizations that benefit from TakedownCancer’s fundraising.

About Waconia Wrestling Club is a 501c3 nonprofit private club association that serves approximately 160-200 kids (PreK-12th grade) annually across our youth and high school programs in the Waconia, MN area through year-round wrestling programs, training, competitions, scholarships/grants and other opportunities. It is our mission to help athletes develop a passion for the sport of wrestling, to help them reach their full potential as wrestlers on the mat and student athletes off the mat and to have our athletes adhere to the highest ideals of DISCIPLINE, COMMITMENT, and SPORTSMANSHIP.
