KQ Funds

KQ Funds is the response of Yusuf Ali and others in the diaspora and Twin Cities community to their vision for a free, educated and prosperous Somalia in the future.  

The foundation of this vision must begin with basic education for all children. Even though schools are authorized by the state governments, tuition must be paid each month of the year, for each student attending school.  Tuition ranges from $15US to $25US.

 Many children, including girls and those disabled, do not attend school because their parents are unable or unwilling to pay the required tuition, or because the children have no parents.

Working in the city of Garoowe in the state of Puntland, in conjunction with school officials, Members of Parliament, officials from the Ministry of Education and educators in the private sector, we have developed this program to identify these students, pay their tuition directly to the schools, and monitor their progress to be sure they stay on track.

Your donation will educate these children and contribute directly and substantially to a better, more stable and just Somalia in the future.
