1/6/2022 UPDATE: This morning we shipped 70 ready-to-play musical instruments to Marrero Middle School's band program. Thank you, everyone, for your support! Please stay tuned for our next project.
This season, we’re heading down the Mississippi River to New Orleans, where Marrero Middle School’s band program is rebuilding after losing a sizable number of instruments and gear to Hurricane Ida.
Marrero Middle School’s band director, Jeremy Williams, reached out to Instruments in the Cloud to see if we could help. Mr. Williams estimated that 85-90% of the instruments would need to be repaired or replaced. “For us as a band, our voice is our instrument,” Jeremy wrote. “We have no voice now.”
Instruments in the Cloud is proud to partner with Marrero Middle School to help rebuild this important music program. We need your help! Here’s what we can do now:
Ship 55 playable and ready-to-go band instruments on the school’s wish list
Gather financial support to help this program rebuild
This Give to the Max Day, we’re setting a goal of raising $3,000 to cover the cost of shipping the instruments and gear and help Mr. Williams to buy materials needed for Marrero’s music programs.
Do you think we can do it? What part will you play today in getting this music program going again?
