Uptown Group Inc

Uptown is the house located at 1344 Summit Avenue in St. Paul where  AA and Al-Anon  meetings are held every day.

Because AA groups do not own property, the Uptown founders in 1975 formed the non-profit corporation named Uptown Foundation, Inc.  This foundation purchased the house at 1344 Summit Avenue, and it is responsible for the maintenance and preservation of the house for the sole purpose of providing space for AA meetings.

A second non-profit corporation named Uptown Group, Inc. was formed to manage the meetings of the many AA squads.  The bylaws of Uptown Group created a steering board to foster and control the activities of the AA squads, as well as the Al-Anon and Alateen groups.  All donations to the Uptown Group are used to provide a prudent reserve for house upkeep and general maintenance.  All funds collected beyond what is needed are distributed to the local AA Intergroup and National General Service Office of AA.  Your donation is tax deductible.
