Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue is an all volunteer, foster home based rescue whose goal is to find fur-ever homes for Great Danes in need.

We serve the animal communities of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota by taking in Great Danes in need. We then place them in foster homes while they receive medical assessment and needed treatments as well as behavior assessments and training as needed prior to searching for and placing them in adoptive homes.

Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue was started in December of 2008 by a group of committed Great Dane lovers who desired to help Great Danes in need. The rescue is comprised of volunteers who lovingly give of their time, effort, home and money to help Great Danes in need.  Our foster Danes are placed in homes with volunteer fosters who love and care for until they are adopted.

As a completely volunteer run organization, 100% of the funds we received  go to our important work of rescuing and re-homing Great Danes in need.  Approximately 80% of our expenses are providing necessary veterinary care.  Some Danes only need  a comprehensive veterinary examination and vaccinations up dated.  Others require a spay or neuter surgery and/or infections and other conditions treated. Some have needed specialty consultations, ACL surgeries, extensive heartworm treatment, corrective eye surgeries, etc.

Without the contributions from our generous donors, we would not be able to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home these gentle giants in need.
