Our mission is to improve people’s lives by mobilizing the caring power of our communities to create lasting change.

Dear Friends of United Way,

As we emerge from the pandemic, it has never been more important to support your local United Way. This past year we have faced many challenges and transitions, but we’ve also had many opportunities to impact thousands of lives across west central Minnesota. We work with existing organizations and currently support over 40 community partners. United Way of West Central Minnesota is not an agency with buildings scattered throughout our region, but rather a team of dedicated, caring people engaged and connected with businesses (small and large), nonprofits, community organizations, and government agencies who work together to create and apply the best solutions for the most critical challenges. It is this connectivity and collaboration of our many partners, along with the support of generous donors and committed volunteers, that enable those that need help to acquire the education or the skills they need to earn a good living, provide for their families, and become contributing members of society. By helping others, you are creating better communities in which to live.

And every donation helps, no matter the size. When you give to United Way, you are supporting partner agencies in Kandiyohi, Meeker, Swift, Chippewa, and Renville counties. Your donation creates real change that has a lasting impact. Here are just a few examples of how far your donation can stretch:

  • $3 per pay period provides 40 books for preschoolers.
  • $5 per pay period provides 50 nutritious meals.
  • $10 per pay period provides a week of shelter for homeless individuals and families.
  • $20 per pay period provides approximately 16 children one book per month for an entire year through the Imagination Library Program.

We envision communities where everyone has equitable access to the basic necessities of life, where people are inspired to act, and where organizations have the resources they need to effectively support the people who need it the most. Your continued support makes this possible.

Thank you for supporting United Way as we continue to build stronger, healthier communities in west central Minnesota.
