Experts say long-term recovery may lag, but the impact on vulnerable communities is likely to be more entrenched and difficult to address. And that means reimagining communities that are more equitable, where everyone can thrive.

We all know the pandemic exposed – and deepened – racial and ethnic inequities. And it worsened pre-existing challenges faced by the most vulnerable: low-income ethnic and racial minority communities, the very young and the aged, and anyone who were barely scraping by.

COVID-19 has also highlighted and reinforced the need for us to be connected and care about one another. United Way’s mission to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities matters more now than ever.

It’s going to take time to truly recover, and to reimagine and rebuild. And it cannot be done by government, business or nonprofits alone – it takes all of us, working together to advance the common good.

Your generosity helps our community of changemakers make a difference together, and we can’t thank you enough!
