United Faith Community UCC

A nonprofit organization

United Faith Community (UFC) got its’ start in February, 2014. UFC became a part of the MN Conference UCC in March, 2016. We believe that our congregation can be a work-in-progress for the changing face of organized religion in the 21st century. UFC welcomes EVERYONE, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual identity, social status, or religious beliefs.

Our core purpose is: We are an inclusive community building meaningful connections with God and all people through faith.

Our vision is to be a community, faithful to our core beliefs, reaching out to others to express God’s love.

We hold to the following Core Beliefs:

  • Still Speaking God - We believe that God is still speaking to us in new ways, revealing God’s direction, hopes, and dreams for all people throughout the world.
  • Extravagant Love - We believe God created everyone the way they are for a reason and it is our purpose to love, accept, and learn from all of God's people.
  • Acts of Service - We believe that God has called us to serve others through small and large acts of kindness.
  • Learning Through Community - We believe we grow richer by being in community and learning about the personal journeys of others, not to change or dispute their experiences, but to learn from them in ways that connect us together and challenge us to grow.

UFC has formalized our Faith Formation Program under the name of Growing In Faith Together (G.I.F.T.). This is an intergenerational program using curriculum from Milestone Ministries and others. We continue to expand the role of our youth in Worship Services.

We have engaged in several different service projects including serving meals at a homeless shelter, gathering supplies for homeless students in our schools, Easter baskets for a senior apartment building, and packing meals for children at Feed My Starving Children. Our Acts of Service purpose is to express God’s love throughout the world and grow in our understanding of God’s love.

We are a volunteer-led organization. Our Pastor, Ole Olson, is a  Licensed Minister within the MN Conference UCC. The congregation financially supports the continuing education of its' lay leadership.

Worship Services are held Sunday mornings at 10 AM at our Faith Center, located at 8 South 1st Ave, Buffalo, MN. We also offer Faith Formation for all ages and book and Bible studies throughout the year.
