Who We Are

Habitat for Humanity builds strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

When Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity builds a safe, decent, affordable home along side a hard working family, we are building a better future for that family, and a stronger community for everyone.

COVID-19 Relief

You can protect our volunteers.

As we seek to continue our mission in a time of COVID-19, You can help protect our volunteers.  Your donation will purchase essential PPE, empowering our volunteers to get back to work building homes, community, and hope.  We have volunteers waiting to help, but you need to do your part first!   Please give what you can!

More about us

Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God's love into action by building homes, communities and hope. We are dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.

Children and families who grow up, and grow together, in affordable, safe and healthy homes have*:

  • Stronger educational achievement: Over half of families report that their children's grades improved after moving into their Habitat home. Over two thirds report that study habits have improved.  Quiet, well-lighted bedrooms for studying will do that!
  • Better health. 74% of short-term Habitat homeowners with a respiratory illness reported an improvement in their condition after moving into their Habitat home. One family in Rochester was able to discontinue their asthma medication completely.  No more moldy carpet = no more inhaler!
  • Reduced need for social services programs: With the exception of SSI disability insurance, usage of every single government assistance program declined by at least 15 percentage points following a move into a home built by Habitat for Humanity. This saves Minnesota taxpayers between $6.4 and $9.3 million dollars, every year.
  • Stronger families. 2/3 of respondents stated that they "got along better" with their families. 70% stated that they spend more time with their families.  More space = better relationships

When you support Habitat for Humanity, you're not just building a better home. You're building a better life for families throughout our region.

That's why we do what we do, but we need your help to keep doing it. After all, where else can you accomplish all of this with just a few mouse clicks?
Join us today, and thank you for your support!
