Two Harbors Area Food Shelf

A nonprofit organization

Our Mission: Reduce hunger and improve the health of people in need by providing food and other resources at no cost.

The Two Harbors Area Food Shelf is open for distribution on Tuesdays from 10:00 am -3:45pm.  **The pandemic has modified our distribution procedures to only allow for curbside pick up of grocery items to mitigate risk to our clients and volunteers**. Clients are given approximately 80-100 lbs of food per distribution which includes: meat, fresh produce, milk, and eggs.  Outside of our regular distribution, emergency boxes are available to clients upon request, which include 20 pounds of shelf stable items.

We are able to acquire 10 times more food with $5 than when purchased at a grocery store. $20 feeds 5 of our neighbors for 2 weeks.

 Our Impact

  • In 2020 alone, we distributed over  134,000 pounds of food
  • 2020 brought over 1,700 visits to the Two Harbors Area Food Shelf
  • We served nearly 400 different area households in 2020
    • 150 of those households had never previously utilized our services
    • Over 26% of household members were age 0-17
