Founded as a nonprofit in 1991, the Minnesota Twins Community Fund has provided more than $23 million through the years to enrich communities and empower youth across Twins Territory through baseball and softball.
In 2024, MTCF was named a Project Play Champion by the Aspen Institute, which recognizes organizations across the U.S. that are leading the way to make youth sports more equitable and inclusive. We firmly believe that this game is for everyone, and our programs continue to set the standard for accessibility and quality. Because we want every kid to have the support, equipment, and safe places to play the games we love.
Through our industry-leading programs and grants that reach thousands of kids across six states each year, we are creating not just the next generation of great athletes, but also the next generation of great human beings.
Free Youth Clinics
Since 1961, our free youth clinics have brought industry-leading instruction to communities across Twins Territory. All summer long, we hit the road every weekend to bring the fun and fundamentals of baseball to kids who want to play. With more than 5,000 kids participating in 2024 alone, generations of ballplayers and fans have honed their skills and grown their love of the game at our free clinics for more than six decades.
Twins Nike RBI
Our Twins Nike RBI leagues bring free, fun and competitive baseball and softball to every kid in Minneapolis and St. Paul who wants to play. Twins Nike RBI is designed to provide young people from underserved and diverse communities with the opportunity to play baseball and softball, encourage academic success, and teach the value of teamwork. In partnership with Minneapolis Parks & Recreation and the City of St. Paul Parks & Recreation, we reach more than 3,000 t-ball through 18-year-old athletes on fields across the Twin Cities each summer.
Adaptive Baseball & Softball
For decades, we've been removing barriers and expanding opportunities for kids across Twins Territory to get in the game. Our innovative and industry-leading adaptive programs are changing the game one community, one ballfield, and one kid at a time. Working with partners like Deaf Equity, Special Olympics Minnesota, NubAbility and Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, our adaptive baseball and softball clinics are tailored to meet the needs of individual communities so young athletes of all abilities can learn the fundamentals of the game, experience the fun of the game, and learn life skills like leadership and resilience.
Girls Baseball
Girls belong in baseball, and the Twins Community Fund is providing unparalleled support to girls who have a passion for this game. Through year-round customized training, camps, and leaders who look like them, we are leading the way to ensure girls have equal opportunity to play joyfully, compete fiercely, and grow in the game they love.
Fields For Kids
As our largest grant program, the Fields For Kids program provides financial support to improve baseball and softball facilities across our region. The program makes matching grants to local baseball and/or softball programs to help fund projects like sod, fencing and dugouts. Since its inception in 1999, the Fields for Kids program has granted more than $5 million to improve nearly 825 ballfields across Twins Territory.
