OUR MISSION: Her Voice Productions is an inclusive community that sings, performs, and affirms the voices of girls and women.
OUR HISTORY: Twin Cities Women’s Choir (TCWC) began in August 1997 with a volunteer director, a volunteer accompanist, 14 singers, and $200 to purchase music. Since our inception we have grown to an organization with three programs: Twin Cities Women’s Choir (TCWC) and ENCORE!, and in 2018 we became Her Voice Productions (HVP), the organizational umbrella for all of these programs.
WHAT WE NEED: Your financial support so we can continue to grow our choir programs, increase our recruitment efforts, purchase music, and continue to find ways to strengthen communities through song.
We need to raise $20,000 to help offset increases in technology costs, guest artist fees, and many other things associated with concert productions and singer experience.
THIS SEASON: This year, the season will include two concerts hosting both choirs: the Twin Cities Women's Choir and ENCORE! We will also host a guest artist, Onome, in March who will use the power of self-expression and experiential learning to help our singers align their minds, bodies, and souls for greater creative expression.
WHO WE ARE: We are a woman-led and woman-run organization. TCWC is the only non-auditioned choirs for women in the Twin Cities, and TCWC is the only free-to-participate choral program in Minnesota for women. Across programming, we are a unique mix LGBTQ+ identifying people and straight allies with a commitment to fostering an ongoing and positive LGBTQ+ presence in our community. While we are predominantly white, we do have varied ethnic/cultural and religious representation. We safely include singers who are vision-impaired, physically disabled, and living with an array of emotional and mental health needs.
