Twin Cities Prison Ministry

Twin Cities Prison Ministry works to provide an active and meaningful Catholic presence to those affected by incarceration in unity with all Christian Prison Ministry.  We participate in prison ministry as the face and heart of Jesus Christ, sharing His mercy, forgiveness and presence while letting prisoners, staff, volunteers and families know that they are not forgotten or alone.

95% of individuals in our institutions will eventually return to our communities.  Sadly 33% of all those released from Minnesota institutions return within 3 years.  When you and I become active in a prisoners life prior to release, this return rate drops to less than 5%.  Knowing that someone on the outside cares for them, that they are not forgotten but remain children of God and are loved, their chances of returning to prison drop from 1 in 3 to 1 in 33!

TCPM provides programs that you and I can get involved in today from the comfort of our homes to make this difference.  Programs include:  Prayer Warriors; Pen Pals; Birthday Card Writers; Angel Tree.  With training and support from TCPM we can become Mentors meeting regularly with an assigned inmate at his or her institution.  Or we can become part of a 3 Day Retreat Team that goes behind bars to bring Christ to those we serve.
