We build stronger communities through agriculture

The Tiny Fields Project uses boulevards and alleys in Minneapolis to teach communities to grow and use vegetables. Each participating household receives a kit with enough seed and seedlings to plant a 5ft x 11ft space, volunteer help tilling for the first season, and instructions on how to plant and maintain their Tiny Field in a sustainable manner. Families then follow along on social media and learn as their garden grows.

Gardeners spend time in community spaces, providing opportunity to connect neighbor to neighbor.

"Tiny Fields has brought my kids outside and made them interested in eating vegetables. I've met more neighbors here in one year than I have the last 3 years."

-69% of participants have a better understanding of agriculture and food systems after growing on their Tiny Field

-78% of participants ate more vegetables while growing a Tiny Field

-48% of participants bought more fresh vegetables when grocery shopping in the winter

-47% met a neighbor they hadn't met before while working on their Tiny Field

-28% build a lasting relationship with someone in the community while working on their Tiny Field
