This Is Me Inc

This is Me provides youth in foster care an identity to promote confidence, dignity, and a positive self-worth. 

We do this by: 

By providing tangible proof through photos and memorabilia, This Is Me is giving youth access to friendships regardless of where the foster care system takes them - giving foster youth proof that they DO exist and they are a part of something larger. Giving foster youth an identity beyond “foster kid” will work towards giving them something to believe in and something to be passionate about. Foster kids deserve to know that what they do matters! 

This is me does these things by: 

1. providing yearbooks and club/team photos to youth living in foster care so they too can be passionate about what they love - items that show foster youth that they are more than just a "foster kid" - things like letter jackets, prom dresses, and graduation robes that celebrate their accomplishments and bring pride to the foster youth.
2. This Is Me works with a database of volunteer photographers to provide those important milestones like Senior photos, reunification and adoption photos
3. This Is Me provides funding for activities that kids are most passionate about - from cooking lesson to ice skating - the options are endless!
4. Mentoring possibilities!  Youth in foster care need someone they can look up to - someone they can relate to and learn from.   This is me sees value in mentoring and works to establish mentoring relationships between foster youth and former foster youth that have emerged from the system and have broken the cycle.
