Over 200,000 Minnesota children were living in food insecurity before schools closed and disruptions from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hit our communities. The need for nutritious food has since skyrocketed, and will only continue to increase. As part of #GiveAtHomeMN, your support TODAY is more vital than ever to ensure children continue to get the nourishment they need.
Since the coronavirus crisis began, we have increased weekly production by 400% to provide 100,000 meals a week to children and families and over a million meals through the end of the school year.
Food insecurity among children will increase this summer due to the continued effects of COVID-19. Sadly, expected funding constraints would result in The Sheridan Story being forced to decrease meals we provide from 100,000 to only 7,500 meals a week. We need to raise $1.5 million to keep providing 100,000 meals a week this summer.
TOGETHER, WE CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!
With your gift today, you are playing a heroic role in the fight against child hunger. As we raise the money, we will be able to order the food as quickly as we can and ensure children don't go hungry this summer. Every $100 you give helps make it possible for 25 children to receive meals.
The Sheridan Story works to fight child hunger by filling the gaps to food access that children face during weekends, summers and extended breaks through school and community partnerships. With statewide school closures in Minnesota an ongoing disruptions to normal summer activities for children, we have been urgently filling the largest food gap our community has faced.
We invite you to join with us in the fight against child hunger.
Thank you for your generous support!
