About The Negative Space

Fueled by 14 years (and counting) of active caregiving for her husband Sean, our founder and Executive Director, Allison Breininger created The Negative Space so that caregivers could have a place where they are both seen and supported. 

In addition to the direct services we provide, The Negative Space is also actively working to change the way caregivers are seen and supported at a systems level. Known as a caregiving expert, Allison's work through The Negative Space has been featured in national publications such as REAL SIMPLE magazine. In addition, Allison has co-authored multiple articles in medical journals and is a regularly featured speaker for medical students and professionals, employers, employees, faith leaders, and health advocacy organizations. 

Since its founding in 2021, the impact The Negative Space has is continuing to grow. We have big ideas about how to expand our reach and meet the needs of caregivers even more intentionally.
