The Mankato Children’s Chorus is a non-profit, non-auditioned choral program dedicated to providing an opportunity for youth to experience the joy of singing while developing healthy vocal techniques. Through the rehearsal and performance of quality choral music, youth develop artistic expressiveness, self-confidence, a cooperative spirit, and the joy of working toward and achieving goals. Founded in January 1994 with one choir of 30, MCC has grown to the current number of 150 youth and six choirs serving grades 1-12. MCC is open to all young people who enjoy singing, and includes students from the greater Mankato region. Scholarships are available to all applicants.

The chorus was selected to perform at the Nobel Conferences at Gustavus Adolphus College in 2001 and 2004, Festival of the States in Washington D.C. in 2000 and 2008, and Minnesota Music Educators Conference in 1998 and 2007. MCC has collaborated in joint performances with area arts organizations such as:

  • Suzuki School of Music
  • Riverblenders
  • Mankato Symphony Orchestra
  • Mankato Area Youth Symphony
  • St. Peter High School Choir
  • MSU Concert Choir
  • Mankato Ballet
  • Minnesota Valley Chorale
  • Dakota Meadows Middle School Choir

The choirs present yearly winter and spring concerts and also sing at civic events, school concerts, and choral festivals.
