The Herb Brooks Foundation (HBF) is dedicated to Introducing, providing and maintaining a variety of hockey-related opportunities at no cost for our youth — while growing the game.

Thousands of children in the greater Twin Cities area have participated in a variety of HBF learn-to-skate, learn-to-play hockey programs all free of charge to the children.

1. Implementation and development of the skating programs year-round (winter, spring, summer, fall).

  • Equipment, ice time, jersey and professional coaching are provided to participants at no cost to them

2. "HBF "Science of Hockey" Field Trips.

  • 80-100 kids spending a day learning about Herb Brooks, the science of hockey, and having the opportunity to try hockey. Equipment, coaches, ice time, STEM curriculum, lunch, t-shirt, and transportation provided - no cost to schools.

3. Scholarship opportunities to provide financial assistance to hockey players and teams for the advancement of their skills.

4. Maintain the Herb Brooks Rink and Training Center.

  •  17,000 square-foot, off-ice training facility at the Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota.

5. Bring participants from the HBF programs on various field trips.

  • WCHA Women's Tournament, Let's Play Hockey Expo, Minnesota Wild games, and other activities that teach them about hockey.
