The Camden Collective: Food, Connection and More

The Camden Collective operates a multi-resource program focused on residents of the Camden neighborhood, North Minneapolis and beyond. Our mission is to build Northside community connections by empowering neighbors to serve each other.

We provday Food Share and Thursday Food Market program and strive to offer fresh and practical food products. We are able to provide all of our programming bilingually in Spanish and English.

Since 2021, The Camden Collective has operated a weekly, free food distribution service.  In October 2023 we averaged 250 families each week, providing fresh  produce, meats, dairy and a full array of shelf stable items.  This is double the average of families we were serving a week in October 2022.

Even before 2023 closure of the Aldi’s grocery store, large swaths of North Minneapolis had been designated as Food Deserts. Other closures followed this year including the North Minneapolis Walgreens and a nearby Walmart, further exacerbating the community’s need and the important role The Camden Collective plays within our community.

Along with our food program, we host free community events and giveaways such as The Northside Fall Festival and The Winter Coat Drive. We also use donations and grants to employ 8 Northside youth in our employment and mentoring program. We have a robust volunteer base of both Spanish and English speaking volunteers.

Your donation will directly benefit Minneapolis families by allowing us to expand our food program and continue to put on free and fun community events.
