About Teach For America Twin Cities
Since our first cohort of 40 teachers in 2009, Teach for America Twin Cities (TFA) has worked to transform the educational landscape of the Twin Cities. As of Fall 2022, we have trained over 320 teachers serving over 35,000 students. We are a network of over 900 corps members and alumni, and countless partners and supporters working to attract, develop, and build the coalition needed for a great educational system for all students in our Twin Cities communities.
TFA is attracting both new and reliable sources of talent to meet staffing shortages for our school partners. By partnering with youth engagement and early-career nonprofits, as well as colleges and universities, our local recruitment initiative is fostering a homegrown, diverse pipeline of teacher prospects from right here in the Twin Cities.
We have expanded our best-in-class programming to develop teachers and leaders across our 7 partner school & district communities and our full alumni network. Corps members can now learn best instructional practices and ways to engage and support their students alongside veteran teachers, school administrators, and community leaders.
We have launched three fellowships to build the next generation of teacher and school leaders. In our Inspire fellowship, teachers gain a community of practice on instructional leadership and develop their anti-racist framework in their classroom. Our Activate fellows gain the tools and skills needed to transition into school leadership, while our Education Policy fellows are building their knowledge base and toolkit to make them more effective advocates in the public arena.
Join us as we commit to changing the landscape for children across the Twin Cities!
