The Lake Country Chorus has been empowering women and entertaining the community since 1968. We have also participated in service events, including community education through the school districts. The Lake Country Chorus is a small, very friendly group of women who provide a strong support system for each other.
This has been an exciting year for us! Our director, Sandy Bergersen, celebrated 51 years of membership in Sweet Adelines International. We had a successful fall fundraiser this past September for the first time since 2019. We have also been able to sing at church services this summer and a couple of performances in the community. On August 20, we joined with several other barbershoppers and Sweet Adelines around the area to sing The Star Spangled Banner, God Bless America, and Take Me Out to the Ballgame at the Twins game.
Some of our needs now include updating our costumes and obtaining a new computer for the treasurer.
Once again this year, we are teaming up with the Greater St. Paul Northstar Chorus to perform two Christmas shows: one at Roseville Lutheran Church on Sunday, November 26th at 4:00; and the other at Zion Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 28th at 7:30. It will be exciting to sing with them again! We have some great music planned, and we hope to see you there.
We will also be participating in the Wildwood Series A Capella Festival again, at the Mahtomedi High School Performing Arts Center, on April 6, 2024. It showcases a number of high school, college, and community groups, showing how singing can be a lifetime hobby.
