The Lake Country Chorus has been empowering women and entertaining the community since 1968. We have also participated in community service events. Some previous FUNdraisers included such projects as selling Dippin' Dots ice cream at festivals in White Bear Lake, working in the milk booth at the Minnesota State Fair, and having a soup lunch and silent auction at our 50th anniversary celebration.
Our illustrious director, Sandy Bergersen, has been involved in music since the age of four. She has been an associate director with the City of Lakes Chorus and has been our director for many years. She has sung in five quartets, two of which won regional contests and thus went on to compete at the international contests. One of her quartets took tenth place.
The Lake Country Chorus is a small, very friendly group of women who provide a strong support system for each other. Although we are not able to sing together in person as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, we still get together weekly on Zoom.
Recently we embarked on a project with the Greater St. Paul North Star Chorus, creating a virtual Christmas card which will soon be visible to the public. We can't wait to see what the future holds for us next year!
