Since opening our doors in 2005 Swan River Montessori Charter School has had over 2,800 students who have been taught with our inter-disciplinary approach to education by teaching the whole child (heart, mind, and soul). The Montessori learning environment is designed to met the child’s inherent needs of self-discovery, creativity, independence, and competence.

SRMCS creates a kind, respectful environment where each child has a sense of belonging.   We strongly support family and community participation in each child’s education by utilizing and appreciating community resources and the natural world as a learning environment.

Swan River, being a charter school receives funds from the state for some of our programming, but not all of it unfortunately. We rely highly on our families, donations, PTO events, and fundraising to help fill the gaps where state funding does not reach.
