Suzuki Association of MN: Providing Enrichment and Motivation for the Suzuki Music Community of MN

The Suzuki Association of Minnesota (SAM) and the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA) are committed to Dr. Suzuki’s belief that every child can be educated and that high ability can be nurtured in every child. With this commitment in mind the SAA has designed a comprehensive Teacher Development Program to assist teachers in creating the best possible learning environment for their students, an environment that puts a priority on the development of fine character along with excellent ability and musicianship.

Every year SAM gives scholarships away alternating each year between deserving teachers and students to attend summer institutes.  In addition, SAM puts on an annual Fall Workshop for teachers and students to provide continuing education for teachers and enrichment activities that motivate students.  High caliber instructors such as Doris Preucil, Brian Lewis, Ed Sprunger, Barry Green, Michiko Yurko, Jeremy Dittus, Alice Kanack, and many more have been brought to Minnesota to provide enrichment classes, continuing education for teachers and master classes for students.

In the Spring SAM celebrates the achievements of over 400 students by providing graduation recitals.  Students are helped by their teachers to create videos of their graduation pieces, receive helpful review comments and, participate in a graduation concerts, and receive commemorative trophies after.

By participating in SAM events teachers and students receive the stimulation and enrichment through a nurturing environment, needed to be motivated throughout the year to be their very best.  Please help SAM to continue this rich tradition of educating and motivating the Suzuki music community of Minnesota.
