Our Mission

Summit Academy OIC exists to assist people to develop their ability to earn and become contributing citizens in their community. We fulfill our mission by equipping people with the education, hands-on skills, and employer networks required to overcome barriers to economic opportunity and success. Our fundamental belief is the best social service program in the world is a job.  People like you make this happen.

Laying the Groundwork for Greater Impact

As the only accredited, no-cost-to-student Career & Technical Education institution in Minneapolis, Summit primarily serves low-income people and people of color. Because of generous donors like you, more than 1,000 students receive training, mentoring, and career support at Summit each year with no out-of-pocket cost.

Summit offers 20-week training in the high-demand fields of construction, IT, and healthcare; a 10-week GED completion program; and a six-week customized Food Manufacturing program. Graduates receive industry-recognized certificates and certifications in their fields of study and earn an average of $40,000 per year after graduation. A Summit education is a path to the middle class.

Summit Academy is scaling up to reach even more people. Your gift for Give to the Max will help provide no-cost vocational training to twice as many people to lift even more people out of poverty.
