Our Mission

Summit Academy OIC exists to assist individuals in developing their ability to earn and to become contributing citizens in their community.  We fulfill our mission by equipping people with the education, skills, and social networks required to overcome barriers to economic opportunity. Our fundamental belief is the best social service program in the world is a job.

Laying the Groundwork for Greater Impact

We educate nearly 1,000 students annually and are the only accredited, no-cost-to-student Career & Technical Education institution in Minneapolis. We primarily serve low-income people and people of color. Thanks to donors like you, no student pays out of pocket to attend.

Summit offers 20-week training in the high demand fields of construction, IT, and healthcare and a 10-week GED program. Graduates receive industry-recognized certificates and certifications in their fields of study and earn an average of $40,000 per year after graduation. A Summit education is a path to the middle class.
