$26,000 Goal

A Night Of $26,000 Laughs

2026 was quite the year huh? Boy it was for Strike Theater.  In fact, despite some serious challenges to our community, it was, in many ways, a great year.

In January, we raised over $3000 for neighbors affected by ICE. In August, we were an independent venue for the Minnesota Fringe Festival, which meant we could offer a lower cost entrance into the festival. In between and all around we hosted 2 sketch shows, 50+ improv shows and 32 classes.

We also moved to sliding scale ticket pricing for most shows.  An important part of our mission is a simple premie...If someone wants to see a show at Strike, we will do everything we can to make sure finances aren't an obstacle.

We are incredibly excited for the coming year and have big plans, but truthfully, we are going to face some significant challenges in 2027 and need your support.   This year on 11/19 from Noon - Midnight we’re hosting a fundraiser-a-thon called The Night of 26000 Laughs. That’s 12 hours of comedy performances. All coming together to raise money for the theater. Any donation made by you to any one of the team’s fundraisers goes a long way to reaching our goal of $35K. You can see a full list of fundraising campaigns down below. And hey, feel free to swing by. It’s a free event.

Why are you raising money?

This year Strike Theater is aiming to raise $35000. That's a lot of money, but it's necessary. A successful Give To The Max Day allows us to:

Help Steady The Ship After The Loss Of A Major Renter

  • In 2027, CSz Twin Cities is changing ownership and moving to a new location.  Rent from our friends at CSz accounted for 21% of our monthly income.

    • We need to find a way to cover that loss in revenue and we need a successful Give To The Max to cover the loss.

Keep our ticket prices low

  •  All Strike Theater shows are sliding scale, which is important. We want EVERYONE to be able to see a show.

Keep our class prices low

  • Everyday our teachers see first hand how invaluable the skills of improvisation and storytelling can be to a student. Experiencing your skills and confidence grow while forging lasting connections is something everyone should be able to afford.
Pay our coaches, teachers, staff and producers
  • This year, Strike is looking to make the Executive Director a full time role. It's essential in order to move the theater forward. Give To The Max will help determine that salary.

    • We're looking to increase the pay for our Director of Education and FOH Manager.

    • We're going to be increasing the pay rate for our teachers.

    • We'd like to have a larger percentage of ticket sales go straight into the pockets of our artists.

  • Create A Buffer For Emergency Repairs

    • Last year our AC went out. Without the donations we raised from GTTM, we would've been f$cked.
      • Please see the above bullet points.
