We use tennis as the vehicle to teach life, leadership and employment skills--to make an impact on the lives of 2,000+ youth each year.

Saint Paul Urban Tennis needs your support to provide jobs for high school youth and scholarships to enable all kids ages 5-18 to participate in our tennis, education, leadership and service programs.

SPUT provides free or low-cost tennis lesson programs for 2,000+ kids each year on 25+ sites in Saint Paul. Many are offered in diverse, low-income, east side St. Paul neighborhoods where limited youth programs are available.

SPUT's Academic Creative Engagement (A.C.E.) camps combine tennis with reading, writing and math activities. SPUT partnered with the Bakken Museum for a STTEM (science, technology, tennis, engineering and math) camp in Summer 2022. An added bonus is that youth in our programs learn and practice SPUT S.P.I.R.I.T.  life skills--service, perseverance, integrity, responsibility, imagination and teamwork.

SPUT high school players from under-resourced communities can join our Warrior Leadership Academy, which combines winter tennis with off-court work on leadership development, financial literacy, community service and college and career exploration. SPUT also employs more than 70 high school and college students as youth tennis coaches, and as program and office assistants at our Eastview Rec Center headquarters. In addition, 15 youth in our Employment PLUS program work in paid jobs at SPUT with time for college and career exploration and mentoring.

In 2017, SPUT moved its headquarters to Eastview Rec Center in east Saint Paul, where the need is great for youth development programming (both tennis and non-tennis) and youth employment.

Your donation will support SPUT's mission to ensure that no child/youth will ever be turned away due to a family’s inability to pay for our programs. Help us teach kids to be leaders on and off the tennis court. Thank you for considering a contribution for Saint Paul Urban Tennis kids!
