During this unique season, St. Paul Urban Tennis needs your support to employ high school youth to assist with SPUT's free summer virtual "Tennis from Anywhere" program and other SPUT Leadership Pathway programs. Your kindness will also help us continue to employ youth in our Employment PLUS program, which combines paid jobs with college exploration and career networking activities.
The Saint Paul Urban Tennis Staff and our student workers continue to work offsite to develop virtual programming and enhance curriculum for all of the experiences in our Leadership Pathway areas: Tennis, Education, Service and Employment.
SPUT provides free or low cost tennis lesson programs for 2,000+ kids each year on 30+ sites in Saint Paul. Kids also learn through SPUT's Academic Creative Engagement (ACE) camps that combine tennis with reading, writing and math activities. An added bonus is that youth in our programs learn and practice SPUT S.P.I.R.I.T. life skills--service, perseverance, integrity, responsibility, imagination and teamwork.
SPUT also offers a Warrior Leadership Academy for 70+ high school tennis players from under-resourced communities that combines winter tennis with hands-on leadership, service and entrepreneurship activities. And, we employ more than 70 high school and college students as youth tennis coaches and student workers for Employment PLUS, a program that combines paid work that includes time for college and workplace visits and career mentoring.
In 2017, SPUT moved its headquarters to Eastview Rec Center in east Saint Paul, where the need is great for youth development programming (tennis and non-tennis) and youth employment.
Your donation will support SPUT's intent that no child/youth will ever be turned away from our programs due to a family’s inability to pay. Help us teach kids to be leaders on and off the tennis court. Thank you for considering a contribution for Saint Paul Urban Tennis kids!
