Step With Soul Ministering With Hands and Feet Inc

The mission of Step With Soul (SWS) is to use the art of stepping to foster character growth, cultivate leadership and instill a spirit of community service in our students. Through step, our students grow as artists, students, and leaders, ensuring they have the skills they need to succeed as well-rounded adults.

SWS is the only youth step organization in Minnesota. As such, we strive to preserve and promote the art of stepping for the next generation of performers, ensuring that this rich cultural tradition continues to thrive

Step with soul was founded in Minneapolis as a step ministry for young African American boy formerly known as the Wayman's boys steppers for Christ.

We offer youth step programming yearly during our performance season from August-May of the calendar school year; rehearsing twice per week. 

Step With Soul’s programming aims to cultivate our students’ growth as performers, as leaders, and as people. To this end, we set the following goals for our students during our performance seasons.

Step with soul Goals:

1. By the end of each season, students will demonstrate measurable growth in their mastery of step technique and choreography.
2. At the end of each season, students will demonstrate increased leadership skills and self-confidence.

Past performances have included the City of Maple Grove Juneteenth Celebration, a halftime show for the Minnesota Lynx, events celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Minneapolis Urban League Gala 2024, Ace for kids Gala, Midwest Greek Step show 2024 Black History Month performances and collaborations with nationally renowned performing groups Step Afrika!
