Ending homelessness and building equity in the fight for housing justice

Access to housing is urgent:

Every day, too many of our neighbors in the suburbs of the Twin Cities are living without a safe and stable place to call home. Families are forced to make impossible choices between rent, food, and healthcare. People with lived experience of homelessness are often left out of the very conversations and decisions that shape the housing system. This gap leaves entire communities vulnerable and keeps the cycle of homelessness going.

Stable housing is more than a roof

It’s the foundation for health, education, employment, and dignity. Without stable housing, families and individuals face higher rates of illness, children struggle in school, and entire communities suffer. We cannot afford to leave anyone behind when safe housing is the foundation for everything else in life.

SHIP (Stable Housing is Priority) was founded and is led by people with lived experience of homelessness.

We know firsthand what the barriers look like, and we’re working together to change them. Through advocacy, collaboration, and community leadership, SHIP pushes for real policy solutions while making sure those most affected have a seat at the table. Because we are rooted in lived experience, we bring authentic solutions and ensure voices that are too often overlooked are lifted up.
