Providing necessary and accessible health services to the medically uninsured and underinsured since 1992.

The Sisters of St. Joseph address the unmet and increasing health care needs of uninsured and underinsured people in Minnesota through St. Mary’s Health Clinics (SMHC) neighborhood-based clinics.   SMHC directly improve health in uninsured individuals by providing:

  • free primary health care as well as medically necessary outpatient, inpatient, specialist services;
  • prescription medications;
  • and health education and outreach services in collaboration with four Latino parishes in St. Paul and Minneapolis to patients who otherwise would go without health care.

Financial support for SMHC translates into genuine impact that ripples throughout entire families and neighborhoods. In 2024 alone, SMHC arranged more than $1 million in specialty care vouchers — a direct investment in sustained health, dignity, and peace of mind for those living on the margins.

Your donation ensures SMHC can expand clinic operations to meet growing patient needs, provide crucial mental health services for families experiencing ongoing stress, strengthen programs for chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension and extend outreach to isolated and underserved areas where care is most scarce.

Your support of St. Mary's is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
