St. John Paul II Catholic School in Northeast Minneapolis is built on a history of serving immigrants and all of the faithful, which continues today. Its mission is to provide a rigorous, faith-infused education in grades K- 8 and to care for the whole child, working to remove any barrier to education a family may face.
At St. John Paul II School, we see all scholars as beloved children of God and deserve the best education. More than half of the children we serve speak Spanish as their first language. In school, they are learning English as they study math, science and the rest of our curriculum. Our scholars often come to JPII behind academically because of the language barrier, but we take pride in helping them learn a second language while also getting them to perform at grade level or higher standards.
A critical goal for our teachers is that each scholar grows to be on grade level. We assess this growth three times a year and use this data to pinpoint specific skills each scholar needs.
St. John Paul II’s doors are open to all who seek a robust Catholic education, regardless of a family’s ability to pay tuition. Our direct cost of educating one child is $11,500 annually; our stated tuition is $2,550. We succeed in providing this transformational education only with the support of community partners like you.
Since 2015-16, our enrollment has grown 32%. This is exciting — and challenging. More scholars means greater need from generous supporters.
