St. Anthony Community Theater (SACT) is a non- profit community organization whose mission is to enrich community life by providing access to high quality performing arts opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels; on the stage, behind the scenes, and in the audience. We are a people-centered, volunteer run organization with a focus on inclusive, accessible community arts. We may focus on the St. Anthony Village community but we also welcome and draw talented people and audience members from many neighboring communities including Columbia Heights, Hilltop, New Brighton, Northeast Minneapolis, and Roseville.
SACT was founded in 2001 in response to a recognized gap in summertime opportunities for youth. Since that beginning, SACT has grown to become a valued community asset, becoming a 501c3 nonprofit organization in 2005.
Previous SACT productions include: Into The Woods; Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; The Music Man; Fiddler on the Roof; A Christmas Carol; Urinetown; Hello, Dolly!; The Sound of Music; Annie; Singin’ in the Rain; The Wizard of Oz; Seussical the Musical; Mary Poppins; Willy Wonka; and Mr. Popper’s Penguins among others.
SACT productions enhance a sense of pride in the place we call home by providing inclusive and accessible arts activites, fostering artistic expression, and strengthening connections between neighbors. Without generous community support through volunteering, ticket sales, and donations, SACT could not retain the area's top artistic leadership. Thank you for supporting accessible performing arts in our community!
