The Saint Anthony Park Library Association supports our local branch of the Saint Paul Library.
The Saint Anthony Park Branch Library is a branch of the Saint Paul Public Library. A Carnegie library built in 1917, it is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Saint Anthony Park Branch Library Association (SAPBLA) supports the both the local branch and our community’s interest in the local branch, helping to keep the SAP Library one of the busiest and finest looking libraries in the Saint Paul system.
Each year our budget supports library programming for children, youth and adults as well as many other facility needs of the public library. Since 2023, SAPBLA has presented the SAPBLA Forum, a monthly program addressing a great variety of topics of interest to all.
SAPBLA is also the umbrella organization for signature Saint Anthony Park community events which are integral to the SAP Library: the annual Saint Anthony Park Arts Festival and SAP Book Sale, and the Luminary Walk.
Our major fund raising efforts have raised substantial monies for capital improvements, such as adding the children’s rotunda in 1999. We also help pay for maintaining the beautiful gardens and have helped finance other landscaping projects. In 2025, SAPBLA planted two new oak trees on the front lawn with a view to the future of our beloved community library.
