About Us…

Prairie Dance Alliance (PDA) of Southwestern Minnesota is a non-profit corporation that was started in 1992.

PDA is operated by a Board of Directors that is comprised of about 20 hardworking members who volunteer their time, energy, and talents  towards the goals of the organization.   See our website for a complete list of directors.

Directors are members of committees—dance camp, fundraising, grants, membership, production, properties, publicity, and sponsorship.

The object of the organization is to promote education in the art of dance.

Prairie Dance Alliance serves:

*Area students of dance—by highlighting the talent of youth in Southwestern Minnesota in productions, by providing opportunities to enhance their education in the art of dance, and by offering to be a fiscal agent for them.

*The community—by providing opportunities to experience high quality dance performances  locally.

PDA hosts an annual dance camp each summer at Southwest Minnesota State University.

Strong technical instruction is offered in:  Ballet,  Lyrical, Modern, Jazz, Jazz Funk, Tap, and Musical Theater.  A variety of master classes are also available.

Dancers age 6 and older are welcome to attend.

Showcase performances follow every camp at the SMSU theater.

Over 1000 members of Southwestern Minnesota have participated in PDA’s productions:

   Nutcracker (1995, ‘97,  ‘99, 2001, ‘07, ‘11, ‘13)

   Babes In Toyland (2003, 2005)

   Alice In Wonderland (2009)

Participants in our productions come from more than a dozen SW Minnesota communities

Local support from SMAC, MASC, MAFAC, area businesses, and supporters like you make our productions possible!
